The Callahan Split – 2016 Australia Day Book Giveaway

I am thrilled to be part of the 2016 Australia Day Book Giveaway, hosted by Shelleyrae and Bookdout!

It runs from today until Wednesday January 27 – Leave a comment on my blog and visit other participating bloggers and leave a comment, to be in the running to win fabulous books by Aussie authors.

On my blog, you could win one of two copies of The Callahan Split or one of two copies of It Started with a Kiss!

My latest novel, The Callahan Split, centres on the lust, love, loss and lives of several fictional players on the international tennis circuit.  And as it happens, coincides with Australia’s summer of tennis…in fact the first page begins with sisters and doubles partners playing at The Australian Open!

Here’s a little more about the novel –

In tennis, as in life, nothing ever goes truly to plan.

Samantha and Annie Callahan are successful doubles champions — the toast of the Olympics, Wimbledon, and Flushing Meadow. But their winning partnership spirals out of control when Annie’s new boyfriend announces their engagement at the Australian Open in Melbourne.
Amidst rising anger and betrayal, Samantha completely changes both their destinies when she does the unthinkable after a devastating Wimbledon loss.
The sisters are driven to create new lives by confronting the past and taking control of the present. But can Samantha and Annie both win? Click here to read more.

It Started with a Kiss…After the pain of her marriage breakup, Friday Jones makes some major blunders – from a misguided affair to online dating disasters. But can heartbreak actually be the best thing that ever happened to her? Click here to read more.

    • Hi Bec, I have a sister too. Not sure if she’s happy with me at the moment…I am so controlled, lovely and balanced. My sister, well, don’t get me started…

  2. I would love to read the Callahan Split as it combines two things I don’t know too much about – tennis and sisters (I have only one younger brother), what a great subject choices to combine. Very topical too :-). Thank you for the giveaway and a very Happy Australia Day to you Lisa 🙂

  3. Thank you for a fabulous giveaway Lisa. I already have “It Started with a Kiss” but would love to win a copy of “The Callahan Split”

  4. Are any of the characters in The Callahan Split based on any tennis players that I would know? Will I work them out?
Sounds wonderful, tennis and Aussie rules are the only sport I watch.
    Have a great Australia Day

    • Hi Ann-Maire,
Really? You know I can’t divulge that information. (Drinks some wine) Lleyton, Venus, Same Stouser…puts the wine down.
      I can’t tell you…

  5. Congratulations on your new book! I really enjoyed Stella Makes Good, so I’m sure I’ll love either/both of these books too.

Thanks for the giveaway and Happy Australia Day!

P.S. I hope this isn’t a dupicate, but my original comment didn’t seem to come through.

  6. Happy Australia Day Lisa!
Thanks so much for hosting such a great giveaway and for the opportunity to enter. I keep seeing you posts all over Facebook about the Callahan Split. I’m not into tennis, but you’ve got me intrigued that’s for sure! It Started With A Kiss sounds fantastic as well.
    Have an awesome Aussie Day.

    • Hi Jess, I didn’t think I was that into tennis either until I started writing The Callahan Split! Bizarre but I loved the whole process, doing the research, creating all the characters. It was fun. Thanks for stopping by.

  7. Sorry, I’m about to embarrass myself and admit I haven’t read any of your books yet. But I hope to rectify that soon. Thanks for the giveaway and happy Aus Day!

    • Hi Kylie, You haven’t embarrassed yourself at all. There are so many wonderful Aussie authors out there, I certainly haven’t read them all, either. Thanks for your commment.

  8. I’d love to read It Started With A Kiss. I’m such a fan of reading about new beginnings and change. It certainly makes me motivated to get things going on a positive note in my own life 🙂
Thank you for the chance to win and I hope your australia day was just fab 🙂

    • Thanks, Sarah. I loved writing ‘It Started with a Kiss. It was a lot of fun!

I had a lovely Australia day. Thanks for asking!

  9. Both books sound so interesting! My nan is a mad tennis lover so I should be hoping for The Callahan Split, but It Started with a Kiss sounds amazing as well!

  10. Hi Lisa, I have yet to read your books but I do have Lucy Bounces Back and Claudia’s Big Break on my bookshelf I just need the time to read them but I have given myself the challenge of reading all my Aussie author books that I own this year.

Love reading anything about sisters. I have a sister who I adore but she doesn’t want anything to do with me, we have nothing in common but that doesn’t bother me, I think it bothers her though, she’s academic and I’m far from it, I’ve never been much of a learner in the academic sense anyway. So, if I can read about sisters that will just have to be the next best thing. Both your books sound wonderful, Lisa.

    • Thanks, Sue. Sorry to hear about you and your sister…that’s a tough one.
I like the sound of your reading challenge. Good luck!

  11. Hi All,
Thanks so much for your lovely comments.
Unfortunately there can only be four winners.
They are Amy and Jess for It Started With A Kiss and Bec and Amanda for The Callahan Split.
I have emailed them re sending me their mailing address.
    Again, thanks for entering!
